Bodi(WNR) , Nov.23, GNA -The Member of Parliament for sefwi Bodi constituency of the Western North Region, Mr Sampson Ahi has called on teachers to continue to give their best in raising quality human resource for the country.
He said education was still the best legacy both parents and teachers could help imbibe in the Ghanaian child particularly in sharpening their skills and analytical abilities.
The MP was speaking during an awards ceremony in th area to recognize some good performing basic school teachers in the constituency.
"I am here to encourage you to work extra hard to improve on the standard of education in this area."
Mr. Ahi reminded the teachers of the various academic needs of students and the need to exercise restraints in helping to unearth their potentials.
Mr. Felix Neegeteh Faata, the District Director of Education thanked the Member of Parliament for the initiative and also appealed to philanthropists in the area to learn from the good example of the Member of Parliament to support education in the area.
Twenty pieces of 43 inches Television sets were given out to the 10 circuits in the area, with each circuit receiving two television sets, a certificate and citation.
Present at the ceremony were the District Chief Executive Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwa, and the chief of Sefwi - Bodi, Nana Kwasi Ofori Ababio.
