German flight hub Frankfurt sees best month since before pandemic

Frankfurt, Sept. 13, (dpa/GNA) - More passengers took off and landed at Frankfurt Airport in August than in any other month since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

Operator Fraport counted almost 3.4 million passengers at Germany's largest hub, according to figures released on Monday.

That was around 123 per cent more than in August 2020, but still 51 per cent less than in August 2019, before the global health crisis.

The volume of freight and airmail increased by some 13 per cent compared to August 2020.
